Red Rose Ranch Veterans Horse Camp (R3VHC)

Mission:

Red Rose Ranch – Veterans Horse Camp Inc. delivers horsemanship training and ranch life experiences to Military, First Responders, and Veterans who strive for improvement; physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Vision:

Our purpose is to share our knowledge of horsemanship with the Military, First Responder, and Veteran community. Our position is to preserve our community heritage, be present in the equine industry, and be community leaders.

Through discipline, humility, and self-ownership, our unique attribute is that we can train, communicate, and assist the Military, First Responder, and Veteran community because our staff are Military, First Responders, and Veterans. Through our shared experiences, we can build bonds quickly and ensure the success of our participants.

Red Rose Ranch – Veterans Horse Camp Inc. is its own not-for-profit organization registered under The Corporations Act with a focus on assisting our Military, First Responder, and Veteran Community.  We are supported through a team of volunteers and sponsors to make this camp possible.

Veterans helping Veterans

We created R3VHC, because building a relationship with horses has been the cornerstone of our physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.

One of the goals of R3VHC is to share the benefits of horsemanship with our Military, First Responder, and Veteran community in the hopes of teaching a new skill with amazing residual effects of stress-reduction, anxiety control, and goal setting.

Participant focussed

·  R3VHC is a Monday to Friday experience.

·  We use a recognized curriculum of basic horse care, riding, and stable requirements.

·  We offer one-on-one assistance and feedback from experienced facilitators.

·  There is manual labour such as cleaning stalls/paddocks, splitting firewood, and cleaning tack.

·  The accommodations are barn loft, outdoor toilets, and pump water.

·  The meals are fresh and beverages are served throughout the day.

·   Safety is paramount.  First Aiders, AEDs, stretchers, safety gear, satellite communications, and an Emergency Action Plan is in place for horse and person.

Target Participant

Our participants are current serving Military, First Responders, and or Veterans. It is not necessary to be diagnosed with an OSI or PTS to attend the R3VHC.

One of our goals is to give participants the training, experience, and tools to help see the benefits of the equine lifestyle. Assisting participants that are looking for an outlet for challenges is exactly what R3VHC can accomplish.

Our participants will need to be able to work in austere environments and have a positive work ethic. They must be physically able to conduct manual labour, climb stairs, lift a 40lb saddle shoulder high, and be outdoors (rain or shine) for extended periods of time.

If you feel you meet our participant criteria and are up for the challenge we would love to have you. Our next series of camps will be in September/October 2024. One all male and one all female.

It you are interested in sponsoring this amazing not-for-profit and help our heroes or you would like to volunteer with the R3VHC in a camp staff capacity, please contact us!
